Web design in Sacramento, built by hand
I am Brandon. I design and code websites for small businesses around Sacramento — one at a time, from scratch, with a fixed quote in writing before any work starts.
What you actually get
Every site is designed for the one business it belongs to. No theme bought from a marketplace and re-skinned, no page builder dragging four hundred kilobytes of JavaScript along behind it. The layout, the type, the colour, and the code are decided for your business and written for your business.
That is a slower way to work and it is the reason I take a small number of projects at a time. It is also why the results hold up under measurement rather than only in a screenshot.
Speed is a promise you can check
Most web designers will tell you their sites are fast. Google gives you a free tool to test that claim, and it takes about thirty seconds: PageSpeed Insights. Put my address into it. Put your current site into it. Put my competitors into it.
I hold myself to the same standard I would hold your site to, because a designer whose own site is slow is telling you something.
Who I work with
Local trades and service businesses mostly — Sacramento, Elk Grove, Roseville, Folsom, Rancho Cordova, Citrus Heights and the towns between them. Roofers, septic and plumbing outfits, landscapers, salons, shops, one-person operations that have outgrown a Facebook page.
If your business is doing well and the website is the part that embarrasses you, that is the exact problem I like.
What's included
- A design made for your business, not adapted from a template
- Written to load fast on a phone on a weak connection, which is where most of your visitors are
- Tap-to-call and a short quote form on every screen
- LocalBusiness structured data, so Google can read your name, phone, and area properly
- Accessible markup — real headings, real labels, keyboard navigable
- You own everything, including the code
Pricing
Every project gets its own fixed quote, in writing, before any work starts. These are the usual starting points.
Sit
One page, custom designed, built to get the phone ringing
Fetch
Five pages, a page per service, built in about two weeks
Best in Show
Ten or more pages, with a shop, bookings or integrations
Common questions
How much does a website cost in Sacramento?
It depends on the site, so I quote each project rather than put a sticker price on it. There are three usual starting points: Sit, Fetch, Best in Show. Most small businesses want the middle one. The quote is fixed and in writing before work starts; there is no hourly meter running.
How long does it take?
Two to three weeks for a standard five-page site, assuming I have your text and photos. The slow part is almost never the building — it is waiting on content, so I will help you get that together rather than let it stall.
Do I have to be in Sacramento?
No. I am based in Sacramento and most of my work is local — Sacramento, Elk Grove, Roseville, Folsom, Rancho Cordova, Citrus Heights — because I would rather meet you. But the work does not require it.
What if I already have a website?
Then bring it and I will tell you honestly whether it needs replacing. Sometimes the answer is that it does not, and a few fixes would do. I would rather say that than sell you a rebuild you did not need.
Who owns the site when it is done?
You do — the design, the content, the code, the domain. No proprietary platform you cannot leave, and no monthly fee to keep your own website switched on.
Want to know what is wrong with your current site?
Send me the address and I will run it through Google's own tools and tell you what I find, in plain English, at no charge and with no obligation. If the answer is that it is fine, I will tell you that too.
